Sunday's around these parts look something like this - me sitting on the recliner, my cup of coffee steaming, & David Venable from QVC playing in the background with my planner in my lap. Time for a big planning sesh!
These are the 3 tips I use every Sunday to make the week ahead a little smoother:
#1 - Set goals with a timeline - setting goals for yourself is very important but without a timeline to hit them, they just kind of float around in space. A timeline will help you to avoid distractions and keep you on the path to reaching that specific goal.
#2 - Create a Shopping/Meal Plan - I'm trying to lose weight. The biggest challenge for me is food. This is why making a meal plan for me is incredibly important. Not only does it keep me on track for weight loss, but it also avoids the - what the heck am I going to make for dinner!?!? I already know what I'm going to eat and how many points all my meals will be (I'm doing Weight Watchers).
If you're feeling really ambitious, you can go a step further and get all your food prepped for the week ahead. I'm planning on making several crockpot meals that can freeze easily, so I can just pop it in the pot in the morning, and dinner is done!
Tip #3 - Set Out Your Clothes For The Week - full transparency here - ever since I started working from home, I don't do this as much because let's be real, yoga pants and a t-shirt are my go to. But before that when I worked in corporate, I had all my outfits planned out for the week. I wasn't and am still not a morning person, so the idea of rummaging around in the morning to find that perfect shirt to match these pants or skirt just wasn't my idea of a good time. Plus, then you can really spend that time doing the things that really matter and checking more items off your darn to do list OR sleeping in - which is what I always did :)
Do you have any Sunday rituals that help you be more productive for the week ahead? I'd love to hear them in the comments!
